President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, eager to reform the previous regime’s insular foreign policy, embarked on a series of worldwide tours soon following his election on May 15th. At the time of writing, he was on his seventh trip to Egypt, where he held bilateral talks with Mohamud and El-Sisi about boosting Somalia-Egyptian relations, economic links, and security and education collaboration between their two nations. Other trips include a two-day visit to Tanzania, where the President was a special guest at the 22nd Ordinary Summit of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State. Mr. Hassan has also visited Kenya, Eritrea, Djibouti, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.
