The 2022 budget , which was totaling $ 918,666,761, was unveiled by the federal government of Somalia by Minister of Finance Abdirahman Beyle, on Sunday, December 12. We analyzed the budget figures and numbers and present to the readers allocation created for federal ministries.
- Funds and Projects for: $ 206,780,958, of which the Ministry of Finance controls: $ 10,845,840, with the remainder set aside for projects, the accountant general’s office, public services, the director of the financial reporting center, and the national sales authority.
- The overall budget for education and higher education is $30,169,026, of which the ministry ofEducation and Higher Education will receive $8,423,355 and the rest will be divided among projects, public universities, the academy of arts and literature, and the local Somali language academy.
- Interior, Federalism, and Projects will cost a total of 16,357,476, of which $ 7,298,283 will go to the Ministry of Interior and Federalism, with the remainder going toward the public registry, SURP, SURP PH2, SUIP, and projects for the National Refugee and Displacement Commission.
- The Ministry of Information will receive a $6,217,798.
- Total funding for health is $ 58,583,344, the Ministry of Health will receive $ 3,669,096 of that, and there are more than $ 54 million set aside for projects.
- Foreign Affairs will receive $10,375,403 in total in 2022, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs receiving this money specifically. $3,645,903 in total, with the remaining funds going to embassies.
- A total of $4,639,150 will go to Trade and Industry, and $2,776,850 will go to the Ministry of Trade and Industry for the remainder of the Quality Assurance Agency.
- A total of $17,716,538 is allotted for Transportation and Aviation, of which the Department of Transportation and Aviation owns $ 2,372,296 and the Meteorological and Aviation Authority owns more than $15 million.
- The total amount allotted for the constitution will be $2,211,799, which will go to the Ministry of the Constitution.
- Planning and International Cooperation is allocated a total of: $ 29,341,548, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation allocates: $ 2,193,836, and the rest are allocations for the Biodiversity Project, the National Statistics Agency and projects under the agency.
- Fisheries and Marine Resources have a total allocation of: $ 2,794,108, the Ministry of Fisheries has a budget of: $ 1,928,324, and the rest goes to the Maritime Research Institute and the Coastal Development Project.
- Posts and Telecommunications received $3,005,874, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications received a share of $ 1,839,270, and the National Telecommunications Authority will receive the remaining funds.
